What Is PBO in Chemistry?

What Is PBO in Chemistry? What is PBO in Chemistry? It is very often asked and we all do our best to answer it. What is PBO in Chemistry?PBO in Chemistry means 'plausible deniability' which refers to the hidden agenda of a test. This is a real danger when students are teaching themselves without being aware of the bias in their results. The stakes are high, especially for those who want to teach elementary level chemistry. If they don't have any idea of how they are going to interpret and judge their results, then it is hard to convince a student that the test results are accurate.Students tend to be quite confused about PBO in High School Chemistry. That is why it is important to have a clear understanding of what it actually means in this context. There are a number of reasons why an experiment would be given the name of PBO, including on the part of the students or the scientist or the experimenter. It could be anything at all.Another type of PBO is the 'Wild West' test, where the results are presented without any kind of clear explanation. This is usually where students get more questions than answers from. PBO in Chemistry is no secret, but having a good knowledge of what exactly it is can help you get more out of your tests. This will also help you with those tests that don't fit into this category.Having a certain number of questions is the main cause of failure in many tests and it is the key to make a passing grade in every test. This means that the fewer questions you get, the more mistakes you are likely to make. A test with many unanswered questions is very hard to understand, so having a clear sense of what the test is about is essential. Without this, you will not be able to effectively communicate to your students the purpose of the test.PBO in Chemistry has become an accepted way of interpreting the results of a test. When results are presented in such a way that they are not clearly understood, it is only natural for students to get questions on the validity of the test. That is why having a clear idea of what you are doing is essential. In general, a PBO test is based on different factors and each one would be designed differently. Some include environment, different type of materials, subjects, solvents and chemicals and so on. The end result is that you will be tested with a specific goal and that's the only thing that matters. The proper meaning is very simple to communicate, but it does need a bit of training on how to translate it into words and sentences. It is very important for teachers to understand and fully understand PBO in Chemistry, especially if it is required in their schools. If you don't know what it is and how it is done, then you should look into training yourself.

Algebra 1 Lessons

Algebra 1 Lessons Types of symbols that are used in algebra: - In algebra 1 lessons, we come across two types of symbols, namely Constants Variables. Definition of constant: - A symbol which has a fixed numerical value in all situations is known as a constant. For example: - 5, 30, 246, -7, 5 / 3, 7 / 9, 80.5, -9.6, etc. Whereas a symbol whose value changes with situation is known as a variable, such as; x, y, p, q, 5x, 7z, etc Note: - In 3 x, 3 is a constant and x is variable but together 3 x is a variable. Reason: - As the value of x will change so the value of 3x will also change. Similarly, 3 is a constant and x is variable but together each of 3 + x, x 3, x 3, etc. is a variable. So, we can say that every combination of a constant and a variable is always a variable. This combination of constant and variable is known as an expression and the value of the expression depend on the value (s) of its variable (s). 3 + x x 3 x 3 Example 1: Solve for x in the equation 5x 15 = 20 For a given equation if the value of a variable is unknown, then the equation is solved to find the value of the variable. Different algebraic operations are used in order to solve the given equation. 5x 15 = 20 Add 15 on both sides of the equation. 5x -15 +15 = 20 + 15 5x = 35 Now, divide by 5 on both sides of the equation. 5x/5 = 35/5; x = 7 Hence the value of the unknown variable x is 7 Example 2: If x = 0, the value of the expression x 3 For a given equation, the value can be calculated by plugging the value of variable in the equation x-3 = 0 3 = - 3

10 Things To Look For In A Guitar Teacher

10 Things To Look For In A Guitar Teacher Megan L. Learning how to play guitar is a wonderful journey, and youre at a crucial stage: finding a great guitar teacher. How do you know if the guitar teacher youre looking at will be a good match for you? Take these tips from guitar teacher Melissa K. to find the perfect guitar teacher for you! Your fingers do strange, elegant dances in the air. Melodies and chord progressions haunt your dreams. Your friends are in an a capella group and will erupt into songs at a moment’s notice, but you’re not a singer. Whatever your reasons, you’ve made the decision to advance your guitar skills, whether you’re picking it up for the first time or building on what you already know. Congrats! Now that you’re ready to dive in, let’s make it count by finding the teacher who will be the best guide as youre learning how to play guitar. When you’re looking at potential guitar teachers, keep these factors in mind: Education Opinions differ over whether a guitarist needs to have studied their instrument formally. Many colleges offer complete programs on different guitar styles â€" everything from playing pop music in studios to improving jazz to classical. Your teacher may have gone to school, but also may have studied one-on-one with dozens of professional players. If you’re considering a teacher without a college background, look for a list of references and review what they teach. Besides showing you technique, you’ll want a teacher who will explain music theory to give you a deeper understanding of what you’re playing. Experience teaching Many great guitarists can teach, but they may not be experienced teachers. Conveying information is its own art form, and everyone learns differently. A good education alone won’t do the trick â€" choose a guitarist who has at least a few years of teaching behind them. If they’re new to teaching and you’re OK with that, make sure they give you a rate competitive with other teachers. Teaching style Casual or rigorous? Loaded with theory, or focused on a single technique or song? There are as many different ways to take a guitar lesson as there are teachers and students. Ask yourself what you want to get out of your experience. If you’re just doing this for fun, you may want a more laid-back teacher. If you’d like to learn as much as possible, find someone who will keep you on your toes. Active musically Many guitarists enjoy an active performing or recording schedule, whether they play solo or in groups. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll make a great teacher, but it does mean they’re passionate about what they do and it often grants them a well-rounded perspective. If you want to learn about the professional track, get to know a professional player. Accessibility Before you get started with a teacher, your schedules have to mesh. Make sure you can both set up a consistent time to meet each week. If you’re both very busy or your teacher’s schedule is constantly changing due to other commitments, it may not be a good match. You may also have questions during the week pertaining to your lessons. Your teacher’s TakeLessons profile shows you their average response time â€" if you want to keep your lessons on pace, they should get back to you within a day or two (Editors note: for an example of this, check out Melissas profile or search for guitar teachers in your area). Goal-setter What do you want to accomplish? Whether you want to learn a set of songs, be better at a particular genre, or become a master shredder, part of your teacher’s job is to keep you on track and help you improve. Ask your teacher to help you identify and establish goals early on so that you can mark your progress. Dedicated Acquiring any new skill takes time, and you’re likely to stumble. That’s OK. A good guitar teacher will want to stay with you on this journey. Find a teacher who has kept the same students for a considerable length of time, for several months or years. And be dedicated, too! A great teacher will match your motivation. Personality Beyond having impressive credentials and experience, you’ll want to connect with your teacher enough to feel comfortable asking questions and trying new things. Find a guitar teacher who is friendly, open, receptive, and adheres to a level of professionalism. A sense of humor is a plus. Price Many lessons are competitively priced, but good, experienced teachers tend to charge more. Consider your budget. Taking lessons from a teacher who doesn’t charge much may be nice for you in the short term, but if youre interested in learning how to play guitar on a deeper level, investing in a strong teacher will help you build the foundation you need. Love of music This is why we take guitar lessons in the first place! Hopefully your teacher will share a passion for music so strong, you can feel it fill the room. Those teachers who love teaching music are also easy to spot, because when you finally play that complicated melody you’ve been working on for weeks, they’ll have a big smile on their face.  Ready to find the guitar teacher of your dreams? Everything You Need to Know About the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+)

Everything You Need to Know About the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+) The Collegiate Learning Assessment, or CLA+, is a standardized exam with significant similarities to the ACT and the SAT. However, instead of enabling high school students to matriculate to the university of their dreams, the CLA+ will assist college students in landing a top job. The CLA+ is an evolution of the CLA, which was first established in 2002. This test delves beyond GPA, internships, and extracurricular involvement in order to better measure individuals real-world value to employers. It provides students with a report card for critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities. The exam can be taken by students during any year of college, from entering freshmen to graduating seniors. Freshmen could use the test to obtain a benchmark of their skillsets, giving themselves a better idea of strengths and weaknesses. Seniors could use the test to better market themselves to employers. The Council for Aid to Education, a non-profit organization, created the test and offers it to most anyone in higher education, from students graduating from a four-year institution to students who took a series of online courses and have not yet completed their degrees. The test is voluntary and there are already more than 250 colleges and universities that participate in the CLA+. What is on the test? The first edition of the CLA+ will be available in the spring of 2014. It is a 90-minute exam with a 1600-point scale (similar to the old SAT). The CLA+ wont assess subject-area knowledge, but instead test critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific and quantitative reasoning, writing, and the ability to critique and develop arguments. Here are 4 ways to improve your problem solving skillsthat you may find useful. The test will rely mainly on students completing a Performance Task and answering Selected-Response questions. Performance tasks provide students with a real-world problem and a set of documents to consider. Students will then write a response to the scenario. Prompts may include, What is the best way to address this problem? or What is the cause of this problem? For these questions, students must make logical decisions that are supported by the evidence. Selected-response questions challenge students with a series of multiple-choice questions based on provided documentation (blog posts, debate transcripts, newspaper articles, political speeches, etc.). The questions will assess reasoning skills, critical reading and evaluation skills, and analysis skills [parallel word construction] Why was the CLA+ created? The CLA+ is part of a broader movement by companies questioning the value represented by a traditional four-year Bachelors degree. Simply completing four years of course work at a university is no longer a guarantee for landing an entry-level job. Many employers have expressed disappointment in how ineffective some colleges have been in preparing students for the global economy. Oftentimes, employers expect individuals to demonstrate real-world work experience through internships or extra-curricular involvement. Some even require students to complete internships at that company before they are hired. Here is some great information on how to prepare for your first internshipthat youmay find useful. For some students, this is still not sufficient, and they are forced to further prove their worth to employers. Many companies already have their own assessment tests to screen applicants. No matter what the scenario, some companies feel that hiring graduates right out of college with no work experience is a gamble. The Collegiate Learning Assessment provides companies with a standardized tool to screen applicants based on measurements tied to real-world problem solving.

It differs slightly from kickboxing in that fighters use eight strik ing points while kickboxers use only four: punching and kicking. That is why Muay Thai is called the Art of Eight Limbs. Fighters will only use their fists to strike in boxing matches but Muay Thai boxers use their elbows, knees and feet as well Image by WikiImages from PixabayIn Muay Thai fighting, you will use your fists and feet, certainly, but also your elbows and knees to land blows on your opponents. Also, contrary to traditional boxing which doesn’t permit clinches, as a Muay Thai fighter, you will learn how clinching as well as grappling can be used to your advantage in the ring.Muay Thai is a martial art like Taekwondo and karate but does not employ a belt system or any other visible symbols to denote a fighter’s rank. Also, whereas other martial arts including judo call for practitioners to wear a gi â€" the pyjama-like garb whose shirt is held closed by its knotted belt, Muay Thai boxers wear only shorts. Of course, female fighters wear a tank top or maybe even just a sports bra.Yes, women fight, even in mixed martial arts!Just like many martial arts, Muay Thai is a great way to learn disc ipline and focus but it goes further by demanding that its practitioners be in the best physical condition possible. So, while Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts training may teach you a series of katas â€" training exercises to condition you for that particular discipline, Muay Thai goes further, to condition your entire self, mind and body.It is indeed a combat sport but, paradoxically, the idea is to deflect and prevent injury through strategy and sheer toughness â€" an aspect of the sport that astounded a group of newcomers at the Muay Thai gym we visited in Cardiff…Let’s now take a look at some of the moves you’ll learn in Muay Thai training. In kick boxing as in Muay Thai, offensive kicks are made with the shins while defensive ones are made with your feet Image by Christopher Chiu from PixabayMuay Thai TechniquesMuay Thai fighting techniques are classified into two major groups: major and minor. Kicks and punches fall in the latter category and elbow and knee strikes are considered major. In Thailand, where this style of fighting is the national sport, it is common to exchange blows; a sort of tit-for-tat arrangement but, elsewhere in the world where this sport has a strong following, this type of fighting is less common. At the Muay Thai club near me, they actually discourage learning the sport just to fight!Still, no matter where you learn the art of Muay Thai fighting, the moves remain the same and the techniques for delivering blows still use the whole body. For instance, you would rotate your hips to deliver a kick. Each move has its own Thai name; there are no fewer than seven types of punches (Chok, in Thai) permitt ed. You are surely familiar with some of them: jab, cross, hook and uppercut.Other types of punches, such as the spinning backfist and the Superman punch evoke power just by being so named. While the names for elbow strikes sound mundane, they are some of the most dangerous strikes the sport allows. How would you like to confront a spinning elbow â€" a move that involves stepping diagonally into your opponent’s range and pivoting so that your elbow will gain momentum from the rotation of your body?Mid-air elbow strikes are equally devastating. To execute this move, you would approach your opponent, leaping up as you get close and bringing your elbow down on the crown of his head or on his shoulder. OUCH!Anyone who has seen a martial arts film knows what a roundhouse kick and a straight kick looks like but a diagonal kick, a half-shin/half-knee kick might be harder to imagine, as would be an axe heel kick.Kicking (Te, in Thai) is done more with the shin than with the foot because foo t bones are more delicate than the shin bone; besides, shins can be toughened up â€" you will likely be tasked to kick the heavy bag with your shin as a part of your training.Kicking is different than a foot thrust (Thip, in Thai). These foot jabs are considered defensive manoeuvres used to block attacks and to maintain distance; there are five such moves:reverse foot thrust (Thip klap lang)sideways foot thrust (Thip khang)straight foot thrust (Thip trong)jumping foot thrust (Kradot thip)slapping foot thrust (Thip top)They are essentially used to push your opponent back, executed with the sole of the foot â€" either the ball or the heel rather than the toe or the side.We visited a Muay Thai gym in London where they were learning the slapping foot thrust; it is an exercise in balance and strength! Finally, the knees.Like the elbows they are particularly devastating blows; for instance, the curving knee strike mimics the roundhouse move of the kick, adding momentum to the blow, but the point of contact is the knee. The side of the ribcage is the usual target for this type of knee strike (Ti khao, in Thai).Obviously, you would have to be in peak physical condition to deliver and be on the receiving end of such strikes; that is why Muay Thai training is so rigorous and why these fighters are in the best possible physical shape.Still, studying Muay Thai doesn’t mean that you have to be a fighter, Muay Thai gyms in Glasgow offer classes for people to get in shape; no fighting involved â€" although there may be sparring…By now you must be wondering where all of these Muay Thai gyms are located; we get to that now. You should wear Muay Thai shorts to have the freedom of movement needed to kick properly Image by Claudio_Scott from PixabayMuay Thai clubs in and Around Greater ManchesterThere are, in fact, so many Muay Thai clubs to choose from in this area that it was difficult to settle on which ones to highlight. If you live or work in the Northern Quarter area, your best bet would be Master A Muay Thai.Founded by Thai Master Sitiwatjana, this gym is smaller than the more glitzy facilities that offer a range of training such as Boxfit or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but it is nevertheless well-equipped and offers classes to people of all ages and abilities. If you are a student, you can afford a monthly membership for only £40 per month; for adults who aren’t students, the monthly fee is £10 more and children may participate for the low price of £25 per month.Staying in the northern quarter, in the Piccadilly area, you’ll find Cobra of Siam, a mid-sized gym outfitted exclusively for Muay Thai: padd ed floors, RDX bags and Thai pads. They also have a floor ring for sparring. You can buy a year’s membership to this gym for £45 and each lesson will cost £6 or you may opt to pay for monthly lessons for a fee of £30 for members; non-members will be charged £45 per month. They do offer private training sessions for £30 per hour but Superprof Muay Thai coaches charge far less…If you’re not sure whether Thai boxing is for you, you might venture into SBG Gym.This is an MMA gym that offers kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and, of course, mixed martial arts classes. This facility’s main selling points are that is it easy to get to (also in the Piccadilly area) and it is well-equipped.We like that they are serious about combat sports and that they offer a trial session at no cost. So, while you enjoy membership at the Cobra of Siam, nothing says you can’t get some sparring in at SBG.We met a Muay Thai fighter in Belfast who liked going to other clubs to see how she measured up against opponents she’d never fought before…If you happen to be in Stockport, consider yourself in luck: you have ready access to All Power Gym. It is an extremely well-equipped facility that maintains high training standards. While their focus is MMA, they nevertheless run several Muay Thai classes throughout the week for beginners, intermediate and advanced fighters. Their monthly membership prices vary, depending on whether you are a student and on your age â€" kids’ classes cost less than adult ones do.Did we leave off your gym? Why not tell us about it in the comments section below before checking out the Muay Thai clubs in Birmingham…

Learning to play a musical instrument (such as the piano or the guitar) is particularly useful for practicing on your own as a singer. This is because students can accompany themselves and learn about placing their voice within a given rhythm and at a certain pitch.Furthermore, having a good understanding of music theory and being able to read music is indispensable for those who wish to attend auditions and take ABRSM exams. For those who don’t play any musical instruments, it is still possible to rehearse songs before your voice lessons. Instead of focussing on the relationship between your voice and your instrument, you can work on learning the lyrics and melody of a piece either on your own or with a backing track from the internet.During your first session with your vocal coach, the teacher will identify your singing ability as well as the timbre of your voice and your vocal range. There are six distinct registers when it comes to classifying singing voices:Soprano: High-pitched female voicesMezzo-soprano: Mid-range female voicesAlto: Lower female voicesTenor: High-pitched male voicesBaritone: Mid-range male voicesBass: Low male voicesStudents should, therefore, choose pieces that are suitable for their vocal range when building their repertoire â€" coaches will usually help them with this process. There are also websites which suggest songs and pieces suitable for each of the vocal registers.Training your voice requires daily practice. 90 minutes of lesson time per week is not enough to fulfil your singing potential, which is why it is advised that students spend around 30 minutes per day practicing their pieces and singing exercises. If you feel that 30 minutes of practice will tire your voice out, break it into two 15-minute sessions instead.Find your voice coach London.Working on pieces in the time between your session with help you make faster progress and get more out of your money!Mobile Apps for Singing PracticeWherever you may be, at home or on holiday, the digital age has opened up a world of possibilities for using technology to practice your vocal skills! The educational software that is available not only helps you to improve your singing skills, but also to develop your musical ear and your awareness of your breathing techn iques whilst having fun!Smartphones can do just about anything - they can even help with your singing! ¦ source: Pixabay - JESHOOTSIf you feel lost when it comes to your vocal warm ups, these applications are ideal!Certain apps aim to help users with their vocal range, whereas others focus on teaching users to recognise musical notes using relative pitch â€" which is useful for those preparing for music exams. Here are just a few apps that you may find useful as a vocalist:Sing! Seven Ways Parents Can Support Their Childs School

Seven Ways Parents Can Support Their Child's School Studies show that parental involvement has a direct positive benefit on students' academic achievement. If you're looking for new ways to support your child's school outside of volunteering in the classroom or donating to the school fundraiser, here are seven ideas on how you can help make your child's school a better place: Join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), or school advisory board. Your school's PTA (or similar organization) is one of the most important links between you and your child's school. It is designed to enhance school-parent communication and help parents be more involved in their children's education. PTA will help you get to know teachers and other parents and learn the most effective ways to suggest and implement changes at your school. Enrich the learning experience. Great schools do more than teach students what they need to know for standardized tests. Find ways to enhance your child's classroom. Talk with the teacher or principal about potential enrichment activities and ask how you can help. If your child's teacher is interested in offering students learning opportunities outside of the classroom, offer to help coordinate and/or facilitate. Share your knowledge. Perhaps you have an interesting job, hobby or life experience that you could share with a class or group of classes. If leadership is your strength, consider devoting some time to coaching a sports team or advising a fledgling but important student group. Improve communication. At any school, good communication with families is a key to success. You could help create a parent newsletter (or improve the newsletter your school has) or start a phone tree. Ask your child's teacher how you can help him or her stay connected to classroom parents. Be an advocate for your school. Sometimes, being a resource for your school can be as simple as writing your school board members or legislators about issues that are important to the school. Attend a school board meeting on behalf of your grade or class or in support of an initiative. If you see an area of improvement at your school, explore the proper channels to voice your ideas. Help increase financial and other resources. Aside from school fundraisers, there are other ways you can help your school secure needed funding or supplies. Help research or apply for federal or private grants to benefit specific school programs. If you have access to materials the school needs, why not make a donation? Help other parents. If you are bilingual, you could volunteer to help translate at parent-teacher meetings or translate signage and materials for the school. Volunteer to provide transportation for students or parents to attend functions they could not otherwise easily attend. If you have particular expertise, offer to host a parenting seminar and share your knowledge with other parents. With a little creativity, you can find many ways to help your child's school be an enriching academic environmentand a vibrant and welcoming community for all students and their families.
